Support Worker – Afternoon & Night Shifts (SIL Setting)

About the Role

We are seeking reliable, passionate, and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting.
You’ll provide day-to-day support, community access, and assistance with daily routines, helping participants live the life they choose in a calm and consistent environment.

    • Sleep and awake night shifts available
    • Shift times: 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM
      • 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (active)
      • 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (sleep)

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care Support: Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, and medication management.
  • Household Support: Help with meal preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, and maintaining a tidy home.
  • Skill Building: Support residents in learning essential life skills for greater independence.
  • Community Access: Accompany clients to appointments, social activities, and hobbies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all support aligns with NDIS plans and is properly documented.
  • Behaviour Support: Confidently manage challenging behaviours while maintaining professionalism.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong rapport and trust with clients.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliability & Commitment: Ability to maintain consistent shift patterns across weekdays and weekends.
  • Essential Checks:
    • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
    • Current First Aid & CPR certificates
  • Transport: Valid driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Experience: Preferred but not essential – caring for people with psychosocial or intellectual disabilities. Nursing/allied health/education students welcome!
  • Personal Qualities: Empathetic, friendly, and professional attitude. Must be confident in managing challenging behaviours and skilled at building rapport.
